The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), spearheaded by Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, is taking major strides in advancing Thailand’s Soft Power strategy with the highly anticipated Thai Fight Rome 2025. This spectacular event, part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 campaign, not only celebrates Thailand’s rich cultural heritage but also marks the 157th anniversary of Thai-Italian diplomatic relations.

Held on 6 April 2025 at the iconic Pala Tiziano in Rome, Thai Fight Rome 2025 captivated an enthusiastic crowd of over 2,500 spectators, all eager to witness the fierce competition between Thai and Italian fighters. As part of the 5-Grand concept—a major theme of the year’s celebrations—the event was designed under the “Grand Celebration & Must Try” pillar. It aimed to spotlight Thailand’s unique cultural identity through sport, strengthen the bond between people of Thailand and Italy, and solidify Thailand’s growing presence on the global stage.

The action-packed evening featured 10 thrilling Muay Thai bouts, with the main event showcasing a legendary display of skill and power. Thai Muay Thai icon Saenchai P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym proved his prowess by securing a stunning first-round knockout against his German opponent, Jessie-Bjorn Buckler, leaving the crowd in awe.

Beyond the excitement of the fight, Thai Fight Rome 2025 serves as a strategic push to enhance Thailand’s visibility in the European market, a rapidly growing hub for sports tourism. The event plays a pivotal role in attracting a broader audience to Thailand, with TAT targeting 267,000 Italian visitors in 2025, translating into an expected tourism revenue of approximately 16 billion Baht.
